Filling Your Time After You Get All The Kids To School
Spending time as a stay at home, or work from home mom can be very rewarding, but what do you do with your time once your little ones all head off to school? It can be hard to find yourself at this stage in life. Here, you'll find a few ideas on what you can do to fill your time while the kids are at school.
Take Dance Classes
Do you love to dance? Do you wish you were better at it? Well, why not use your free time to take a few dance classes. Start out by taking one or two, you may find that you are totally in love with the art of dance. Not only will it make you feel great, but it will help you to stay fit. You'll get exercise while having fun and creating new experiences.
Join a Gym
There's always something going on at the gym. Now that you've done your part in taking care of the kids for the past many years, it's time to make sure that you're taking care of yourself. So many mothers put themselves last especially during the first six years of their kids' lives – this results in failing health and decreased energy. Drop the kids at school, grab a light, healthy breakfast and hit the gym for a bit.
Get a Job
Find a job that offers part-time selective hours. Many moms have shut themselves off to the people outside of their circle. Getting a job can open up your social circle and find new people to spend time with – and you'll get paid for doing it. Having that job may be what you need to motivate yourself to do something more – it could be the money that you use to take a vacation at some point during the year.
Volunteer
There are always community centers and charitable foundations looking for a helping hand. If you don't know where to go to volunteer, contact a church local to you – they'll have all kinds of information about foundations that are in need of help.
Tip: If you are having trouble finding a position to volunteer for, consider going to nursing homes and reading to the patients – many patients lie in bed lonely all day – you could be the highlight of their day.
Get out there and see the world – find yourself after all of those years of solely being mom. Life is for living – go do it!
